Clarins Concealer Stick | Beauty

Clarins Concealer Stick

This is another Clarins sample I got from my beautiful friend Vernia, this is the Clarins Concealer Stick in the shade 01 Light Beige.

I have a love/hate relationship with concealers because it's so bloody hard to find the right one, the colours are always very limited and then you have to figure out whether you want one like this or a more liquid one, it's just always such a hard decision. I'm still hunting for my perfect one.

When I swatched the Clarins concealer stick on the back of my hand the first thing I noticed was what a great match it was for me it just seemed to blend in quite well. But when I went on their website there are only like 4 different shades available for this concealer stick which isn't a great range for different skin tones. The formula of this product is quite thick and creamy which does give really great coverage though I did find it kinda fell into the creases which did look a little cakey but you just have to blend this product out for a more natural look.

I found that this Clarins Concealer stick is actually very long lasting which is great because you know that your make up is still in place towards the end of the day. This retails for about £19.50 which isn't the cheapest product out there but it certainly isn't the most expensive I've never really looked at Clarins for makeup, but I'm really starting to open to Clarins as not just a skincare brand but a makeup band.

What make up do you recommend from Clarins?

Clarins Everlasting Foundation | Beauty

My utterly gorgeous friend Vernia's sister works for Clarins (the lucky thing, I know) and recently she gave me a couple of samples which you know I was thrilled about.

To be honest, I haven't really tried that many Clarins products because it's just a brand I never think to look for. I know they do fantastic skin care ranges but it's just not a brand I immediately think of for make up. The sample I received was the Everlasting Foundation which actually I think is a fairly new release. They do a great range of shades online and I've got it in Ivory 103 which is a pretty nice match actually, it has a slightly pinkier tone than the next shade up which is Nude 105.

When I pumped it onto my hand I saw that is a very liquid foundation which isn't something I'm used to actually, most of my foundations are a thicker consistency. Once I pumped it out I had to work quite quickly with it because I didn't want it to start drying on me. I tried it with my Real Techniques foundation brush and it actually worked quite well. I was toying with the idea whether to use my Beauty Blender, but the Everlasting Foundation was just a bit too runny and I though that the sponge would probably just soak the product up too quickly.

Clarins Everlasting foundation was actually pretty full coverage, which I wasn't expecting it to be because of it's consistency. This isn't a bad thing I just wasn't expecting it. It also leaves a dewy look on the skin which personally I prefer, it just makes my face look a little more hydrated. I think the colour match was pretty perfect for me, which I was really impressed with.

I'm not sure how this foundation would be on oily skin, my skin is fairly normal if not a little dry and it definitely worked for me but I would imagine if I had oily skin it may not look as good. But I don't know.

Have you tried the Clarins Everlasting Foundation out?

Colour my lips pretty...

I'm very simplistic when it comes to the colours I wear on my lips, I like a lot of nude shades.

However the latest trends appear to be these lovely lip crayons that I kinda wanted to try out but didn't want to end up wasting my money. Thank goodness for freebies and beauty boxes is all I can say!!

In this months Birchbox I received a Laqa & Co - Lip Lube (cheeky I know) which is a pretty bold purple shade called Menatour. This was a pleasant surprise though totally not my colour.

I also ended up buying two Glamour Magazines this month because they had two different shades of the Clarins - Chubby Sticks, Super Strawberry and Woppin' Watermelon and I needed both, obviously.

They all look pretty cute together and immediately my collection has tripled. What I will say is I'm actually pretty impressed and may in fact have to try more of these beauties!

Let's start with the Laqa & Co - Lip Lube

Pretty damn purple huh? Even though this colour is too much for me, I don't hate it as much as I thought I would. It's incredibly pigmented which is a great thing. I think if I only applied a small amount it would probably be easier to wear for me but I wanted to see it's full effect.

Moving onto Clarins - Chubby Sticks

This is gorgeous shade is Woppin' Watermelon and I think it's great! These are completely different to the Laqa & Co one because these more sheer therefore much easier to wear. I like that they add a bit of colour but they're also very much like a balm.

Love love love it in Super Strawberry though! Can you tell by the smirk?!

Massive fan, these Chubby Sticks are definitely going to be added to my handbag.

Have you tried the Chubby Sticks?

What shade of Laqa & Co did you get in your Birchbox?
