Lush Solid Shampoo Bars | Beauty

Lush Solid Shampoo Bars

I have this problem with Lush and it's mainly that when I walk in, I cannot walk out without buying at least one thing! I usually opt for the bath bombs but this time I was browsing the solid shampoo bars, just a heads up guys there are LOADS of them! I was drawn to the solid shampoo bars because I have heard quite a few good things about them so I was rather intrigued by them.

I had to ask one of the lush employees how the hell you use the damn things though because I wouldn't know where to start and she advised you can use them two ways. The first way is to lather it up in your hands and then massage into your scalp and the second way was to rub the bar actually on the roots of your hair and then work it into a lather. This said, because I know my hair is very fine and my scalp gets greasy quite quickly I thought I would probably try the first method. Whilst I was chatting to the Lush gal, I mentioned my hair type and she suggested the Montalbano bar because it has lemon in it, it's quite light and fresh on your hair! Also, a fund fact for the blondes out there lemon is a natural lightener and works wonderfully on your hair.

Montalbano Solid Shampoo Bar

Right from the first use of this product I was in love, I foamed it up in my hand and the scent was incredible but once you put it on the scalp it literally doubles in foaminess, like it's quite impressive really! Once  washed it out and blow dried my hair I was amazing how soft my hair was after! Citrus works really well on my fine hair so this bar definitely didn't weigh down my hair at all, even my boyfriend tried it out and really liked it!

Honey I Washed My Hair Solid Shampoo Bar

I also wanted to try out the Honey I washed My Hair shampoo bar even though the Lush gal advised it might be a little too heavy for my hair, the thing is my hair is really fine but is also is quite damaged and whilst this may be a little heavy on the roots it may actually nourish the ends of my hair! I can't help it, I like the scent of honey and I just needed it in my life so I bloody bought it anyway! It definitely is a different consistency and oddly enough it adds a lot of volume to my hair which I wasn't expecting at all!

The only thing I would say is these bars are a little difficult to store as personally I don't like leaving them on the side near the shower but I just have a little plastic container to keep them in, it's just something to bear in mind.

I am obsessed with both of these bars but the Montalbano shampoo bar is literally a game changer and will be something I will repurchase again and again!

Have you tried solid shampoo bars before?

Pamper Session | Lifestyle

I was ill recently, I don't know how! I'm working really hard at the gym, eating really well and now I get ill, I blame the germy commuters on my trains in the morning.

So today I thought I would share with you this week's pampering session, when you are feeling a little run down I always think it's good to have a relaxing bath and just treat yourself/body/skin.

First things first, the bath - you know it has to be a comforting bubble bath which means the only option is Lush Comforter Bubble Bar, you know it makes sense. I love the scent of this bar it's fruity and fresh which instantly peps me up a little bit.

As I'm running the bath, I always exfoliate my face with the Simple Face Scrub, it's gentle and always works well for me. After I have done this I just use the Simple face mask and then jump straight into the bath.

This time around I thought it would be a good idea to try out the Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer  my hair has been looking a little drab lately, it's constantly being pulled back into a pony tail with no real styling done. You are supposed to leave it in your hair for 10-20 mins before shampooing so bath time is probably the best time to use this stuff as you aren't doing anything anyway.

And then I just relax.

When it start drawing towards the end of my bath I think focus on my body. I'm a massive fan of using scrubs and/or glove exfoliators for my body, I always feel so much better after a good scrub and this time I am trying out Butterflies London salt scrub, which I will be writing a full review on so keep a look out next week.

Then once I am out I always follow up with my favourite Dove moisturiser.

What are your bath time pampering favorites?

Lush Haul | Beauty

So I'm back! I know I have been somewhat quiet and not posted for a little while, this is for two main reasons. The first was because I have been so incredibly ill that the thought of trying to construct sentences was just too much. The second was because, well it's Christmas, I don't believe that many people would read my posts.

I also found myself trying to keep up with the "festive" theme by writing my December posts with a Christmas twist and I'll be honest with you, they frickin' sucked! So I'm back onto my beauty and fun lifestyle posts

Let's start with a wonderful Lush Haul, let's face it most girls probably got Lush items for Christmas and I'm not complaining at all, my parents got me a lovely selection of stuff.

What a lovely bright collection!

Let's dive straight in an take a closer look at each one, starting with...

The Comforter Bubble Bar

Oh.My.God! I know why everyone loves this one now, I see posts where blogger/vloggers always bang on about the Comforter Bubble Bar and never quite understood why. This bubble bar smells amazing, literally so yummy, I actually want to eat it. It smells like sweets, berry, chewy, sweets. I haven't tried this one out yet but I have tried the other bubble bar and I'm super impressed with both the scent and the bubbles. I also love that you don't use the whole thing, you just break 1/3 or 1/4 off and you get so many bubbles.

Fizzbanger Bath Bomb

I haven't tried Fizzbanger before and to be honest I haven't seen many reviews of it so my mind is wonderfully open. What I do like about this bath bomb is that it smells very zesty and citrusy. Personally I love those kind of scents more than floral ones to bathe in because it just wakes me up a little and refreshes me. Not sure what kinds of wonderful colours this one will have once it starts fizzing but can't wait to find out.

The Baked Alaska Soap

I'm a lover of shower gels and body washes to use as opposed to bars of soap, the bars are always massive and you can never use a full one and they just stay there getting wet and ugly then you just throw them away. So at first I wasn't that thrilled because it is a massive chunk, but what I did realise is that I could just cut bits off to use it. Genius right? This is another zesty fragrant one so you know I'm happy!  I really love the colours of it and can't wait to actually try this bad boy out.

Brightside Bubble Bar

As you can see, I just had to use the Brightside Bubble Bar, so there is a little bit missing. This smells like oranges, are you sensing a theme? It is so yummy again, I just want to eat it, but I won't! I have never tried a bubble bar before and wondered whether they actually do give a good amount of bubbles. If i'm having a bubbly bath then I like there to be a copious amount of bubbles and this did not disappoint and the smell was still just as strong in the water.

I broke some off then as the water was still running I just crumbled the bar in my hand under the water and watched the bubbles fill the tub. Love Love Love it!

So White Bath Bomb

And finally we have the So White bath bomb, now this scent is probably the more subtle of them all, it's quite a soft apple scented one. I can't really put my finger on what exactly it does smell like but it's still just as beautiful. It's very simplistic to look at, a little ball of white but I have seen that once it is in the bath it fizzes to reveal a pink centre which is cute.

So there we have it, my Lush goodies.

Have you tried out any of the above? What is your favourite lush bath item?

Lakeside Shopping Centre Haul

Recently I booked a random day off from work and thought what a great idea it is to spend the day at Lakeside Shopping Centre in Thurrock. Possibly the worst thing to do is go to Lakeside when you haven't been paid.

So several hours and lots of money later this was the damage...

Which isn't actually too bad

I'll be honest I haven't bought myself clothes in quite sometime, purely because all my money has been going on beauty products and I always find it really hard to see things I like in the Spring/Summer season. I wear a lot of black and I'm trying to revamp the ol' wardrobe so there's no point in me buying things that are going to be out of season in a couple of months. I want to change my wardrobe so that it has the basic essentials that last a lot longer. You will notice a theme, there is a lot of black but it's my favourite colour and you can wear anything with it and Autumn/Winter is easily my favourite season for clothes.

Boux Avenue is easily my favourite lingerie shop, I have shopped there years. I won't go into too much detail by showing you exactly what I bought (nobody needs to see that) but I just got some underwear. I love the shop at Lakeside, it always looks amazing, I love the way all the sizes are laid out in the draws below and the staff are literally amazing. I really appreciate walking into a shop, being greeted and service is my number one thing I look out for and this shop ticks all of the boxes. I don think they are actually too expensive but I love the little details such as the gift wrapping and things like that.

I also accidentally fell into Zara. I never go in to buy anything but always end up with a bag full of stuff. This time I was very good, I was just having a look around and found some plain black leggings, fab quality and a thick waist band and they were only £20! I didn't take a pic because to be honest, they are pretty boring and it's hard to take a pic of leggings when they aren't on you.

But as you can see I also bought this gorgeous black jumper, honestly words cannot describe how much I love this. The quality and weight is gorgeous, I find it hard sometimes to wear jumpers without them making me look bigger but this just lays perfectly because it is quite heavy. Of course I love the little lace detail on the shoulders, it's so cute. This was £25 which I think is still a good price for the quality.

Moving swiftly onto Primark, for me Primark is one of those store I really struggle to shop in, I literally cannot handle the mess and chaos of it, I'm terrible. However I went to Lakeside fairly early and to my excitement it was quiet and the shelves were perfectly stacked. The only reason I went in was to get some boots. Last year I bought some suede ones which I literally wore all through AW but they are a bit worn now so I thought I would see whether they have them in this year. To my joy, they had the same ones but in a leather look version, they are exactly the same so I snapped them up at on £15. I also love the fact they have a chunky rubber sole.

I also bought a grey vest top, again not very exciting but I kinda like the worn look about it and thought it would look great with my black Zara leggings, my boots and a little jacket to go over the top and it was only £1!!

No shopping trip would be complete without going into Lush, it's an unwritten rule that if there is a Lush shop thou must enter! I wanted to run wild however having abused my bank balance in previous shops I thought I would be good and only pick two bath bombs. I picked Honey bee bath bomb (I had to really didn't I?) and the Twilight bath bomb, I haven't tried Twilight before but it seems to be a favourite among bloggers. I'm more of a shower kinda gal but when I have a bath I do like it to be pretty indulgent so I'm looking forward to popping these in my baths.

There we have my little mini haul.

Have you bought anything from these shops recently?
